Te Moana
The sea that sustains
Ōariki looks out to Te Moana-nui-a-Toi. The coastline of the eastern Bay is part of daily life here — the light on the water, the sound of it, and the kai it provides.
Fish from the beach at first light, swim on a still morning, or follow the coast as the moana shifts with the weather. Evenings often close with kai gathered from the water.
We do not simply own this place — we have a responsibility to care for it.
